How to
Hear Energy FM
Due
to the low power restrictions imposed on this station by the
Australian Government, we have developed a networked system FM
transmitters across the greater Hobart area. We strongly
suggest you have the antenna on your home or car radio extended
to recieve the best possible signal. If you are using a
home stereo system, it is possible to plug your inside or outside
TV antenna into the antenna socket on the rear of your FM tuner.

This
radio station has a series of transmitters across the greater
Hobart region. Depending on where you live or where you
are, we suggest tuning into the following FM frequencies for best
reception.

Coverage includes, Sandy Bay, Battery Point, Dynnerne, Hobart City, West Hobart, South Hobart, Some Northern Suburbs, Ferntree, and parts of the Eastern Shore |
| 88.0 FM | Coverage includes North Hobart, Mt Nelson, Hobart City, some Northern Suburbs, Mt Nelson and some areas of the Eastern Shore |
| 87.6 FM | Opposum Bay, Kingston, Taroona, Blackmans Bay, and parts of the channel area. |
| 88.? FM | Coverage includes Claremont, Glenorchy, Rosetta, and surronding areas. |
Non-Live
Programming
In
the past Energy FM produced HI-FI video tape, in fact over 300
hours of non-stop dance music. Recently however, Energy FM
has moved to a digital based music system which allows for easy
updating and inclusion of the latest music. Our system has
over 8 gigabytes of digital storage. The operating system
is Windows 95 Version B.
Copies of Energy FM's 10 HI-FI video tape programming maybe now purchased for $25 per tape. The tapes have over 225 dance music songs and mixes, along with Energy FM station identifications. Please contact Energy FM for details.
The
Network
We
utilise a series of STL links to create Hobart's larget FM
broadcast station, now being syndicated across Hobart.

Information
The
Energy FM Technical Staff consists of three Ham Radio Operators,
they are also the ones picture on the contents page at this
website.

The famous telephone patch has been built using modified telephone equipment [do not try this yourself].
Transmitting equipment includes four broadcast quality transmitters at our four locations of North Hobart, Sandy Bay, South Arm [for Kingston service], and another located in Hobart's Northern Suburbs.
Transmitting antennas are custom designed by the Energy FM staff, using 5/8 wave aluminium in construction.
